What was up with padme in that scene? The lighting was so unflattering and she looked kinda nuts

That’s a smokey Joe if I ever did saw one
She basically Bill Clintoned him…
She was high ranking royalty, he was a young unpaid apprentice assigned to her.
Plus, half the time they’re flying around on his spaceships, even if he wanted to say “no”, he couldn’t because of the implication.
Guy is a blue balled virgin and she shows up in that tight black leather outfit, she knew what she was doing
It depends on what your definition of “is” is
I feel like it’s changed significantly in my 40+ year lifetime
Is she gonna hurt Anakin?
These Padawan were never in any real danger…
He’s gonna get hurt … hurt so good

He didn’t want to say “no”.
Ya, I remember him begging like a little boy.
But even if he did want to say no, he wouldn’t have…
Because of the implication

He’s the most powerful jedi of all time, powerful enough to subdue the living embodiments of the light and dark sides of the force at the same time.
and he still got his legs cut off
I think that the appropriate word is groomed.
Anakin was 19 and Padme was 24 when they started getting into the real stuff
I think they mean that she groomed him.
Nothing happened between them until he was 19 and she was 24.
I don’t think you understand what grooming is because what you said does not preclude it.
I haven’t watched Attack of the Clones in awhile but to me, it always played like Anakin was starting to accept that she wasn’t interested and as soon as it became clear that he was giving up. Padme broke down crying that she wanted him as more than a friend.
Which IS some manipulative groomer shit.
Again, just how it plays on screen in the movie. Like she’s the thristy babysitter that was getting upset that the kid she used to watch was moving on.

This isn’t a documentary. There isn’t stuff happening behind the scenes that we aren’t being shown. This is a story being told and, unwittingly or not, that is the behavior being portrayed.
This is a fictional universe with comic books, video games, TV shows and books constantly being released to re-contextualize the narrative large and small. There’s no-way the intention was to have Padme manipulate Anakin. You’re right though, that is what’s portrayed.
Ret-conning is a thing, of course, and I’m not saying they meant to show Padme grooming him, but if those ambiguities are there, it’s either intentional or bad writing.
I groomed the chosen one.
