GroenLinks-PvdA Member of Parliament Barbara Kathmann calls the switch to Microsoft by government agencies “an affront not only to the House of Representatives, but also to Dutch and European businesses.” Earlier today, outgoing State Secretary for Taxation Eugène Heijnen (BBB) informed the House of Representatives about the switch to Microsoft 365 by the Tax and Customs Administration, the Benefits Agency, and Customs. This means that these services will become dependent on this American software giant for their daily work.

Phone calls are superior to MS Teams. In fact 2 person meetings/calls are proven to be way more productive than all those multiple person meetings where everyone just wastes time.

It’s also bullshit as there certainly are comparable alternatives. French municipalities use LibreOffice, for example.

I hate that they want you to use desktop apps for everything when the benefit of it all is the web based aspect. I hate google, I would switch back to gsuite in a flat second. M365 sucks in every way.

Lol. Welcome to the shithole, Tax and Customs. Broken processes are over there by the hole in the floor everyone uses for a toilet, mandatory shutdowns for emergency patches are when you can least afford it, and no, you can’t turn off the thing. We’ve all tried.

Hey, knock yourselves out. Maybe you should open a ticket with support!
