Gamescom's app added an AI feature this year and it did not go well. Folks were overwhelmed with automatically generated meeting requests that they did not want. It generated a lot of stuff, but not value. They just sent everyone an apology email and disabled the AI.

The Gamescom app AI-generating meetings you have to manually decline is absolutely heinous shit

How it started vs how it’s going after dozens of Devcom spam meeting confirmations for AI organized meetings I neither asked for wanted

An email with white text in a black background that says “Hello JC,Our AI meeting generator has sent you a meeting suggestion with a person who matches your interests. 📅 Don't miss an opportunity - accept requests! Why don't you exchange ideas? Who knows what great things will come of it... 💡 Good luck Your gamescom biz team”An email with white text in a black background that says “Hello JC, We tested a new feature today - the AI meeting generator. The aim was to suggest suitable business contacts based on your profiles and make it easier for you to plan your trade fair contacts. However, your honest feedback shows us that this feature does not provide the desired added value. We have therefore decided to completely remove the automatically generated meetings from your profiles. Thank you for your openness. Your feedback is a central component of our further development - together we will make the platform better.”

Wait so, not even suggestions, just full-on booking a meeting for both sides without confirmation?

Yuppppp one of my friends shared this, mine wasn’t that bad but I don’t know how Informa keeps getting stacks of money for a conference and roll out something this screwed up

A bunch of messages saying “New meeting, Congratulatons! You have a new confirmation”

As a diagnosed autistic man who needs a schedule, this just gave me a minor panic moments before boarding my flight. Gamescom do not do this!!! Who on earth thought this was a good idea??? Anyway, check your schedules friends

Text says "gamescom 2025 Hello Henry, Our AI meeting generator has sent you a meeting suggestion with a person who matches your interests. 📅 Don't miss an opportunity - accept requests! Why don't you exchange ideas? Who knows what great things will come of it... 💡Good luck Your gamescom biz team Check your schedule now!"

Anyone else’s #gamescom app booked in meetings without your knowledge? I’ve got 9x AI-created meetings that have all been “accepted” by the other attendee… but after speaking to one they’ve confirmed they didn’t know about it either. How do I stop this @gamescom?!
